Bolshoi means 'big' in Russian, and indeed this magnificent place a big role in Russia's cultural evolution. This same theatre has hosted many shows, inviting not only spectators whose interest lays in Russian culture but also annually hosting shows for Russia's elite. After six years of reconstruction and 700 million dollars of investment the theatre is finally open.

In 1947 he showed his collection in Paris where he received a very warm welcome and praise. 

Charles James ignored the notion of seasons when it came to creation of his gowns that he saw as art. 

From my understanding his fashion career did not last a life-time. Charles James retired at the age of fifty-two.
